Common Pentax 67 faults
Pentax 67 blurry photos handheld
Softness that appears only in handheld shots, worst around 1/15 to 1/125, points to mirror slap rather than a lens or focus fault. The mirror is large and its slap can shake the whole body at the moment of exposure. Using the mirror lock-up lever if fitted is worth checking before assuming anything is broken.
Pentax 67 meter needle not moving
A dead or sluggish needle in the metered prism usually means a spent battery or an aged CdS cell, since the meter is only powered when that finder is fitted. Fresh cells at the correct voltage are worth trying first. If the needle still won't respond, the cell itself has likely faded with age and needs attention.
Pentax 67 shutter speeds inaccurate
Frames that come out consistently over or under exposed, especially at slower marked speeds, point to timing drift in the mechanical shutter train rather than the meter. This is common on bodies that have sat unused for long stretches, since old lubricant thickens and slows the escapement. It's a mechanical fault, not something a battery or setting fixes.
Pentax 67 wind lever stuck
A wind lever that won't complete its stroke, or needs real force, points to binding in the mechanism that cocks the shutter and advances the film together. Check the lever isn't simply resting against the body rather than folded fully out. If it still won't move freely with the lever extended, the coupling inside needs a proper look.
Pentax 67 mirror stuck up
A viewfinder that goes black and stays dark after firing means the mirror hasn't returned to its resting position. Given the mirror's size and the force needed to swing it, this points to wear or binding in the return mechanism rather than anything electrical. Confirm the mirror lock-up lever isn't engaged before assuming a genuine fault.
